Frequently Asked Questions

Urgent Care Patient Billing FAQs

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We accept most insurance plans. Because insurance networks vary, we recommend contacting your insurance company to confirm that ConvenientMD is in-network with your specific plan.

How much will I pay if I have insurance?

Your cost depends on your insurance plan. We will collect any applicable copay at the time of your visit. After your insurance company processes your claim, you may also owe an amount toward your deductible or coinsurance.

Because every insurance plan is different, your insurance company determines your final out-of-pocket cost.

How much does an urgent care visit cost if I don’t have insurance?

Insurance is not required to visit ConvenientMD. If you are paying for your visit without insurance, here’s what you can expect:

  • Visits start at $175.
  • Your total cost for eligible ConvenientMD urgent care services will not exceed $265, regardless of how many of these services you need during your visit.
  • Services such as X-rays, sutures, EKGs, orthopedic supplies, and immunizations are included in the $265 maximum.
  • Pre-packaged prescriptions and lab work sent to the ConvenientMD Lab or LabCorp are not included in the $265 maximum and may result in additional charges.

Are you considered urgent care or walk in? My copay changes depending on which service I use.

ConvenientMD is an urgent care facility. Your insurance company may classify urgent care and walk-in services differently when determining your copay or coverage.

If your copay depends on whether you visit an urgent care or walk-in clinic, we recommend contacting your insurance company to confirm how your plan covers ConvenientMD.

Do I have to leave a credit card on file?

We ask patients to keep a credit card on file so we can easily process any balance that remains after insurance processes your claim.

If there is a remaining balance after your insurance claim has been processed, ConvenientMD will send a balance notification via SMS or email with your balance due, before any auto collect is processed. You can choose a different payment method at that time.

If you prefer not to leave a credit card on file, you can instead make a $75 payment at the time of your visit toward any potential balance. Once your insurance company processes your claim, any amount you overpaid will be refunded.

What forms of payment do you accept?

ConvenientMD accepts the following forms of payment at the time of service.

New Hampshire & Maine: credit cards, debit cards, Health Savings Accounts (HSA), and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).

Massachusetts: cash, credit cards, debit cards, Health Savings Accounts (HSA), and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).

Lab Patient Billing FAQs

Why did I receive a separate bill from the lab?

If your ConvenientMD provider ordered lab work that needed to be sent out to a laboratory for processing, you may receive a separate bill from the ConvenientMD Lab or LabCorp. This lab charge covers the processing of your lab test and is separate from your ConvenientMD urgent care or primary care visit.

I paid for my ConvenientMD visit. Why am I receiving another bill?

Your ConvenientMD visit fee covers the care and services provided at our clinic. Some lab tests, such as blood tests or cultures, are sent to a laboratory for processing. The laboratory bills separately for these services, which is why you may receive a separate bill after your ConvenientMD visit.

Your insurance coverage and financial responsibility for laboratory services depend on your specific insurance plan. If your insurance does not cover all or part of the laboratory charge, you may receive a bill for the remaining amount.
